Everyone knows and loves a good beer can chicken but this has a whole different take.
The combination of the citrus radler beer along with the Jamaican Jerk seasoning
will for sure be a crowd favorite on your 4th of July weekend!

Ingredients:

  •    ½ can    Schofferhofer Radler Beer
  •           1    Spring Mountain Chicken, whole
  •     3 tbs     Maggi Liquid Seasoning
  •        1/3    Red Onion, sliced
  •  3 sprigs    Rosemary, fresh
  • 4 gloves    Garlic, halved and smashed
  •  1/3 cup    Olive Oil
  •                  Gustus Vitae Taste of Jamaica Spice, to taste – a few dashes

Directions:

Make sure that your can of beer can fit inside your chicken so make sure to pick a larger chicken and if you want to grill your chicken that your grill is tall enough to fit a chicken standing up.

Clean your chicken and discard the insides.

Season your chicken on the outside with the olive oil, Maggi, garlic and lastly with the Jamaican Seasoning.

Season the inside of the chicken as well with all of the above seasoning but also put the rosemary and onions in it.

Prepare the can of beer by pouring half of it into a glass (that’s for you to enjoy while cooking) and leave the other half in the beer can. Use a church-key can opener and punch an additional whole to the top of the beer can. You can add some seasoning and rosemary to the beer as well.

Hold the chicken over the can of beer, sliding the chicken on to the can. To help stabilize the can, make sure the legs are in the front and place in a small disposable pan.

Bake the chicken at 350° F or you can grill it. With either cooking method it will take an hour to an hour and a half to cook.

Once it is fully cooked remove the chicken to a baking sheet and remove the can of beer and allow to cool for ten minutes before carving.

Enjoy!
